How to Object
National Grid's third and final consultation runs from 10 April to 26 July. This will be its Statutory Consultation. Last chance to have your say.
The Little Bromley Parish Council are preparing their response to the consultation.
Here are some of the things you can do during the Statutory Consultation:
Respond to the consultation
The easiest way to do this is email contact [at] n-t.nationalgrid.com by 26 July 2024.
The recommendation is to begin the consultation with standard campaign text:
"While accepting the need to move power from the North Sea to London, I object to the National Grid Norwich to Tilbury Upgrade proposal. This is on the basis of the arguments set out in consultation responses in 2022 and 2023 submitted by many individuals and Parish Councils and by the Essex Suffolk Norfolk Pylons action group, whose submissions, including to this Statutory Consultation, we endorse.
Your consultation has been, and remains inadequate. A valid offshore alternative has not been presented and the harm of National Grid’s preferred solution significantly outweighs the benefits.
The only alternatives that we support is a fully integrated offshore grid. This will dispose of the need to build substations, haul roads, equipment and storage compounds etc that are planned by NG, Five Estuaries, North Falls, Tarchon (…and likely others that we haven’t yet been told about) for Little Bromley."
Please share this text with all your neighbours and family and ask them to take one minute to send the email.
Contact your councillor and MP and say, ““The Norwich to Tilbury upgrade project brings severe harm to the environment, communities, landscapes & heritage of East Anglia. An alternatives such as a fully integrated offshore has not been presented for consultation.
