About Us

Welcome to our website POWER - People Opposing Widespread Electrical Ruin. This is a community website created to drive awareness about the substations, haul roads, equipment and storage compounds etc. that are planned by NG, Five Estuaries, North Falls, Tarchon (…and likely others that we haven’t yet been told about) for Little Bromley.

Little Bromley will be severely affected by this project.  National Grid are planning on widening the main access road to our village (A120), building of a temporary access haul road to transport plant and materials to a new substation to be sited on the outskirts of the village and building a new permanent access road and laydown compound in the middle of the village.   All surrounding villages and towns will be affected as they propose 424 HGVs per day delivering materials and plant to the new EACN substation. In addition, two offshore wind farms (Five Estuaries and North Falls) are proposing to build substations alongside the National Grid EACN substation, followed by a Tarchon Interconnector to supply power to Germany.  The trenches that are proposed will tear up the countryside across the Tendring Peninsula.  You can view the proposed route on North Falls interactive map: https://targetedfeedbackmap.northfallsoffshore.com
