Five Estuaries Archaeological Surveys from 9th May

LBPC has received notification from Five Estuaries that they will be commencing their Archaeological surveys from 9th May. The Western search area is bounded by Grange Road and Ardleigh Road.

For information, this is what has been received:

Good afternoon, We are writing to inform you of planned archaeological trial trenching surveys which are due to commence next week, from 9 May 2023. These works are being carried out jointly between Five Estuaries and North Falls to better understand the potential for buried archaeology and are informed by existing archaeological information and the geophysical surveys we undertook last year. This will only be in limited areas initially, on private land that is part of the projects’ substation search areas beginning with an area within the Five Estuaries western substation option. These initial works are expected to last for around three weeks. The trenching will take place between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, no activity will take place on weekends or bank holidays. All staff car parking will be located within the work area and designated accesses will be used. Heras fencing will be used to secure equipment onsite when works are not taking place. The field will be fully reinstated on completion of the works. We hope that this information is useful should you be approached by residents within the parish. If you need any more information, please get in touch.

Best wishes
