Essex Highways: Advance notice of mini roundabout installation - A137 Wignall Street/Bromley Road, Lawford

We have received notification that from 17 July 2023, Rose Builders Ltd will begin installing a new mini roundabout at the A137 Wignall Street junction with Bromley Road in Lawford.

These works are part of a planning condition approved by Tendring District Council, for the Lawford Green housing development. Activities will include the installation of a new mini roundabout at the junction of A137 Wignall Street and Bromley Road in Lawford, road widening and kerb re-alignment. Street lighting will also be re-located or installed, and underground utility services will be diverted.

Most of these works will be carried out with the support of temporary traffic lights although a limited number of overnight road closures will be needed later in the programme.

The developer has sent letters to residents and businesses in the vicinity (example enclosed).  We have also created a webpage which will be updated with any changes as the scheme progresses to keep the local community informed: A137 Wignall Street/Bromley Road, Lawford – new mini roundabout.

The works are anticipated to complete at the end of October 2023 however dates may be subject to change if affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.
